Grandma's Tea Cupboard is positioned nostalgia around the idea of Grandma and all the associations of her that give us comfort. Encapsulated in a portable tea chest, fake wood veneers, tacky wallpapers, questionably true facts, and of course a superflous amount of cats remind us of everything we love about Grandma and hoped to associate these feelings with the brand.
The package holds 2 sliding pre-perforated drawers. The color system previously established for the Mood Garden Traveler's Set was expanded into the personalities of the cats that delightfully revealed themselves to the customers upon opening.
As the user pulls out their tea bag for use, they are greeted with a fun fact that encourages speculation, conversation, and some occasional eye-rolling. This interactive prompt lengthens the engagement the user has with the packaging and the brand.
This sillier but memorable approach to the realm of tea packaging encouraged users to share their experiences with colleagues and friends while standing out in the market. The packaging is thin enough for portability while visual enough to be a desktop attraction.
